Railey Realty<\/a>, Michael Delligatti and an anonymous donor have each gifted recital halls in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Garrett College, which can also be combined as a flexible, multi-purpose space.<\/p>

Rich Orr, partner at Railey Realty<\/a>, said the community-focused company saw the PAC endowment campaign as “an excellent way to strengthen the community through educational expansion.”<\/p>

“The Railey Realty<\/a> partners believe it is important to invest in the College’s programs to strengthen the Garrett County community,” said Orr.<\/p>

Delligatti’s long-time musical interests made a PAC gift a natural move for Delligatti, who not only owns Honi-Honi but has also spent years playing in the establishment’s house band.<\/p>

“The performing arts are a major part of my life,” said Delligatti. “I’ve played several different instruments recreationally, professionally, in the studio and on stage.<\/p>

“I have seen the impact first hand that music and the performing arts can have on both the audience and the performers,” added Delligatti. “I believe that this new performing arts center is a great addition to growing the community both educationally and recreationally.”<\/p>

“The three recital hall gifts are just further evidence of the community spirit that’s driving this campaign,” said Dr. Richard Midcap, Garrett College’s president. “Railey Realty<\/a> and Michael Delligatti have long-established reputations for their philanthropic efforts, and we’re pleased they wanted to be part of this campaign.”<\/p>

Cherie Krug, executive director of the Garrett College Foundation, said the Foundation is “very close” to reaching the $2.5 million campaign goal.<\/p>

“The Garrett County community \u2013 which has waited decades for a performing arts center \u2013 has been extraordinarily generous in supporting this campaign,” said Krug, citing the Railey Realty<\/a> and Delligatti gifts as prime examples.<\/p>

The Delligatti Family Recital Hall represents the four generations of the Delligatti Family that have visited and resided in Garrett County, as well as the family’s commitment to the community.<\/p>

“I have been embedded in this community as a member, small business owner, and performer for well over 50 years,” said Delligatti. “I want to do my part to help grow the community further recreationally, educationally, and economically.”<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Orr said Railey Realty’s<\/a> PAC gift aligns with the organization’s community mission.<\/p>

“We really believe in supporting the youth of our county and the institutions that support them,” said Orr, noting Railey Realty<\/a> has already invested $43,000 in 2022 in supporting 43 individuals, schools, and other community projects.<\/p>
